DAY 1 Ilocos Tour!

so last december 27, 2011, tuesday night, we started the trip to Ilocos region! what a super-layo-journey-by-land! my mom was able to book a tour package, by land, amounting to around 3.7K or 3.8K per head, 3 days & 2nights, inclusive of everything (the tour, entrance fees to tourist spots, hotel accommodation, etc) except food and the entrance fee to Kabigan Falls (PHP 30.00) :) anyhoo, isn't that cheap!

we arrived in vigan the next morning wednesday, around 7am:) had breakfast at Uno grille, it can be found just around the heritage village, which is by the way known for its Filipino-Spanish-Chinese architectural heritage! :)
even the inside of the restaurant has these old structures!:)

after breakfast, we stroll around the village for some time. capturing the picturesque view! :)

look at Mang Inasal! :) haha

and Max's!

this restaurant is just in front of Uno Grille. this is where we're supposed to be eating breakfast but when we arrived, they are fully-packed already :( but Uno Grille is fine :)

after strolling around heritage village, we went to Burnayan Pottery.

here is the man who showed us a demo of how to make a pot out of clay or mud? ;)

these are some of the pasalubong stuffs :)

after Burnayan pottery, we went to Crisologo Museum. it's the actual home of Floro S. Crisologo, a statesman back in the 70's or 60's, i guess. it houses the family's memorabilia, old stuffs like the ones in their bedroom, even the perfumes displayed there were the originals! cool!

this is the master's bedroom

these are the old perfumes!

so many shoes! with matching bags!

next stop: Baluarte Zoo

they have that artificial tree on top of the under-construction supposed-casino building =)

Next stop: Sta. maria church

...and it's bell tower

the manong around took this picture :)

Marcos' mausoleum.too bad they don't allow picture-taking inside. i saw the body of ferdinand marcos! i don't know if i would believe it that it's really him but it's amazing! they said it's really him, but he's already coated with wax to preserve his body. well, i saw the veins so probably it's real. haha! but, i was really amazed of how "he" looked like in there--so flawless, so peaceful, scary.

Paoay church :) this is a very old church! older than UST :P

this is the Herencia Cafe, famous for their pinakbet pizza. sounds ew? yeah right. hahahaha wasn't able to come inside

Paoay sand dune

it's like a desert

it's a sand ramp :P

Last stop for the day: MalacaƱang of the north. so spacious inside!

overlooking at the paoay lake

that's it for the first day! we stayed at Polaris beach resort for the night :) it was so breezy and cold up there in the North of Luzon, literally!
